Penny with  Jane

Jane Ball is the founder of the Dulwich Dog School.  In 2006 she decided to follow her love of dogs and work with them.

She studied Canine Behaviour and Psychology (Distinction.)

After attending many practical courses her research lead her to Robert Alleyne. He became her mentor and friend. She ran his classes in New Cross until she founded the Dulwich Dog School in 2011. It has grown from strength to strength and now it is in its twelfth year, Jane is happy to hand the baton on to Diane Karn who has worked alongside her since 2019.

My love for dogs started when I was a child and over the years my family have had many breeds including Newfoundland, Bull Mastiff, Border Collie, Yorkshire terrier and my big love - German Shepherds.  I have had four German Shepherds since leaving home. My first, ‘Snurge’ started my interest in dog training. We attended every week and as time went on I helped with the training and demonstrating in the puppy classes for several years. I’ve been lucky to be able to take all of my dogs to work with me. I’ve worked at Whites Pet Centre in Sydenham for over 35 years owning it for the last 15 years. This is where I met Jane and we have become great friends over the years. When I got Dexter (my current German Shepherd) I went to Jane’s foundation classes and this reignited my interest in dog training.  Jane then became my mentor and I have been training with her ever since.  I have been running the foundation classes alongside her and then on my own since 2019.
